Volunteers

We LOVE our volunteers!  Join us in supporting the athletes during the race!  Volunteer shifts include packet pick up, water stops, finish line, course support and more!  Email team@westtexasendurance.com for more information.  Volunteers receive official race shirts, goodies and a huge WTE thank you on behalf of our athletes.  If you volunteer as a group, your logo will be placed on the website and the race shirt.

What is included in my race entry?

In addition to a fully supported course, we provide custom race bibs, awesome race shirts or event schwag. Our races have offered commemorative technical t-shirts, long-sleeve shirts, water bottles, race hats and much more!

There is a designated cut-off time to be guaranteed a race shirt. Please refer to the race information section on the website to find the date for each event.


Can I get a refund on my race entry? 

50% refund will be available 3 weeks before race.  No refunds will be available after that date. Deferments are not permitted, however you can transfer your registration to another person. This policy is necessary because almost all of the supplies and services for the event must be purchased well in advance of the actual event date.

Please email team@westtexasendurance.com to request a refund. In most cases, refunds will be issued to the credit card used during registration and will take up to 10 days to appear on your credit card statement.


Are the events chip-timed?

We currently offer chip timing for the Willie McCool Memorial Half Marathon/5K/10K. In an effort to keep races affordable, we do not offer chip timing at our other events. There is a race clock provided at the finish line for all events.


Are your races beginner-friendly?

Absolutely. We encourage each participant to be properly trained, but the course support and finish line will remain open until the last athlete crosses the finish line.


Can I pick up my packet on race day?

Due to time constraints, we encourage participants to pick up their race packets during designated times. These dates and times will be listed on the website.


Can I pick up a packet for another registered participant? 

Yes. Please bring written authorization from the registrant.


Can I wear headphones?

For safety, headphones are not allowed in cycling events, however you may wear headphones during running races. Please be aware of your surroundings and stay attentive at all times.


Are strollers and/or pets allowed?

Strollers are allowed at our events however we encourage you to start at the back of the race for the safety of you and your child. Please consider the safety of your child when selecting the distance you race.

Pets are especially welcomed at the HOWL-O-WEEN Dog Run. This race encourages your participation with your best friend!


Will a race be cancelled or postponed due to weather?

We will always monitor weather changes, however, all races will be held rain or shine. If inclement weather occurs, we will post any updates on our website, Facebook and media outlets. We will make decisions based on what is safe for our participants, volunteers and staff.

Do your races benefit charities?

Yes, many of our races have a charitable component. Selected charities benefit through donations from our participants and the race organization.
